- ask the right questions.
- get 90% on tests.
- get honors upon graduation.
- be known by your class as the smart one.
All you have to do is follow instructions.
What I liked about school was I could keep learning, reading and thinking, and I’d get commended for it. I’d also get good grades. It’s easy to be that good student.
So you live on in your school world thinking you’re great.
When you enter the real world, you can’t just keep learning, reading and thinking. No one commends you for doing just that. You have to start doing.
The thing is, those are very different things. You can’t fail when you learn, read and think. But you can fail a lot when you do. It’s easy to be that good student, but when you’re done with school, what next?
